Unhappy Transmission mount, live and learn...

Today I replaced my transmission mount with a urethan one from f-body motorsports to get rid of some clunking sound I hear during shifts. Anyway so far it has helped, but now more noise from the drivetrain is being transmitted into the passenger compartment... Damn... I'll probably get used to it, but its like being in a plane now. Anyone experience this? I may just buy another stock mount and use that...

An increase in vibration can occur. It's been well documented on this board.

You could always get the ones from an LS1 car, I heard they are stiffer but no vibrations.

I didn't catch it(look for it on the board) til today. I'll give it a while and if I don't get used to it, I'll just get another stock one for my 98Z. At least it only takes 1/2 an hour to do the job.

Interestingly enough, the one from an ls1 is rubber and has a hole in the middle of it. This probably dampens vibration, but also wears out faster over time (bout 5 years). I guess there's tradeoffs, but if I can get an LS1 really cheap, I may swap it in and see how it goes.
