YES! I have had the GW TracLink for a few years. I love it. It lowered my 60' times by a full tenth. Very high quality and an indestructable design.

Excuse my ignorance but does this eliminate the tq arm bar? What makes it better than a upgraded adjustable tq arm bar?

Hey 94FBIRD, I have been looking into the Global West unit myself. I like it because the front mounts in the trans tunnel, and doesnt use a cross brace like BMR, Spohn, where you lose some ground clearance. Have you compared the Global West versus the other popular torque arms? How much more driveline noise do you have in the car now?

Re: tracklink traction kit??

The GW T/A is a shortened torque arm. It is adjustable. I have mine at -4 degrees. I haven't experienced any additional driveshaft vibration like others with other brands have with -4 degrees. I have had it since 1999.

I like it because you don't lose any ground clearance; and it doesn't interfere with the exhaust. It has a built-in dirveshaft loop mount.

The thing is...I bought this thing when it was one of only two torque arms on the market(that I knew of). Global West designed it for corner carving. The length of the arm is optimized for corner traction and reducing brake drive which is does extremely well. When I called GW I was informed by the tech guy that I was the only person he knew of buying it for drag racing. I reported back that I improved my 60' time by a tenth and GW was happily surprised.

I don't know the brand of rod ends GW uses, but they much more substantial than other torque arm manufacturers use, that I have seen. It mounts to the floor pan and the transmission crossmember. Really, I doubt anyone could break it.

The only drawback is the increased road noise, which is substantial. However, it doesn't bother me as it is MUCH LESS than the street/strip 68 Camaro I used to own. The car is still quieter than than my 91 GMC Syclone, which is, despite its model year, very primitive.

Re: tracklink traction kit??

Thanks for the info 94FBIRD. I didnt realize that the Sy/Ty drivetrains were that noisy. I had a Spohn TA about 4 years ago, and that too was noisy. I guess any of the TA's that mount to the body will make a good amount more noise. Do you think that the Global west unit makes any more noise than say a BMR or Spohn unit? I'm in the market for an aftermarket TA, or at least one that mounts off of the tranny tailshaft housing. Im running a stock location Random tech one right now. I really like the fact that you dont lose any ground crearance with the GW, and you dont have to worry about exhaust clearance. I really like the UMI unit as well. At what point do people recomend replacing a stock location TA? Is there a certian 60' time, or a certian amount of RWHP that people use as a limit to replace it?

I have only rode in a car with a Spohn torque arm. I think the Spohn and the GW are about equally noisy.
