Trac. cntrl light comes on, brakes don't work???
When stopping the brakes work fine, all the way until the last few feet before coming to a complete stop. Then about the last couple mph the "traction control" light comes on and the brakes let up a bit. Almost like the ABS is trying to kick in. It doesn't seem to be a mechanical issue. Anyone know where to start??
Thanks!
Kyle
Thanks!

I've seen that happen due to problems with the rear sensor, on the differential housing. Pull it and check for a buildup of metal particles.
Is it the "traction control" light, or actually the "LOW TRAC" light?

The low traction light comes on. No ABS light ever comes on. I'll go up and check the sensor sometime tonight.
The low traction light only comes on when it happens, then goes away once you're done stopping.

Were havign the same proble, the trac light comes on and the brakes are almost completly faded out. Then the abs light comes on and stayes on and every thing is fine. The light will stay on till the engin is shut off again. And on start up it is hit and miss wither every thing is running fine. Brakes are probly a few months from needing changing front and rear and the fluid is good. When changed the rear abs harnest, and the rear wheel sensors. And the axle had to be changed last december. could this be a lose ground? Im gonna cheak the sensor at the diff as soon as i can. hopping this helps, and thanks for the ideas.
Just FYI. My problem just went away. I'm thinking it was because the car had been sitting for a month or two and there was rust on the calipers. After about 20 miles it quit doing it. Now if it just hadn't blown the head gasket!!
I had a similar issue with my brakes and traction control, after triple checking everything i found that the large wire loom (about 2'' diameter) that runs right next to the steering shaft had a hole rubbed through it and the insulation on the power wire for the abs control unit was grounding out onto the shaft.
Your problem might be totally different but it never hurts to look
