Torque arm relocation kit?

Looking at getting a UMI torque arm relocation kit. I am wondering if it makes a difference if the mount for the torque arm is where the tunnel brace is (like on most aftermarket arms) or if its near the stock location? Will it make a difference in performance? I know its a good thing to get the arm off the tailshaft of the transmission, I am just curious as if the different mounting points make a difference.

Thanks,
Jeff

I love mine! I haven't rigorously analyzed all the moments, I think I read that the shorter arm was better for braking, and a longer arms (maybe sort of like old-school ladder bars?) were better for weight transfer and accell....

I do know that it makes the torque loadings on the back axle more solidly transfered to the chassis, gets the load off the rubbery transmission mount- and it is a lot more robust piece, no flimsy sheet metal-

My car never seemed to have a problem with wheel hop, but then, I never lowered it, either, so I can't say that it helped, there. Certainly didn't hurt it, either- Highly recommended!

i also have it. it is a nice solid piece and yes it replaces your current tunnel brace...

no wheel hop here easy install and very easy to adjust... just make sure you get the geometry right...

Get the geometry right? I have a spohn arm now and I want more clearance for long tubes. How is the re=location arm to adjust?
