I love my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. Although BFG KDW's, Kumho EX's, and Nitto 555's were all options too. I'd try BFG/Goodyear for longer lasting tires, supposedly the 555's and Ex's dont last real long.

Re: Tires to get?

i had the yokohama avs es100's on my old car. they showed very little wear after 8k miles and plenty of burnouts. either you beat them to deathm drove them a lot of low psi, or you had a faulty tire. I'd get the es100's again any time. bridgestone potenzas are nice as well, but cost about 175/tire.

Re: Tires to get?

Buy BFG traction TAs, you wont regret it. They are good priced and grip! Plus they wear really good. Good wet and dry traction, you can accelerate pretty hard in the rain w/o tire spin! Step on it off the line and see minimal tire spin in dry. Took mine to the track (245) and got some damn good times for stock (see below).
