Alright, I drove it some more today, and things seem a little better. It seems to brake pretty well. I still think that I'm going to bleed the brakes one more time, and put new pads on. Hopefully that will help my problems.

cant hurt, better pads will help forsure.

when I bleed the brake I do it once till there are no air, do the others, then start again and do them all again.
then when I'm done that, I do it again.

and if there is air the second or third time I do it again till I get two times with no bubbles.

Yes this takes a while, just make sure you have something to put the fluid in thats clean so you can use it again.
and Yes I have some paranoia that brakes will fail on me, so I triple check everything.
(have yet to do my own brakes though too)

I also think what maybe happened was a little bit of brake fluid got onto the rotor, which made it slippery. Because it seem much better now. I'm going to take my G-Tech out today and see what it does. Then I'll post them on here to see if they're up to par. Then try the same test after pads. Then we'll see if your statement about pads is right. I'm aware that it is though.

Alright, I tried it out. I got 194 feet. That seems pretty lame if you ask me. Or is that up to par with other LS1 cars?

194' from what mph?

if its from 60 mph your WAY behind, R&T tested it to be 129' from 60 and 222 from 80 mph

194 feet from 60-0?! Either your G-tech is way off, or you have some SERIOUS braking issues! I think that braking distance is a lot worse than a Hummer H1 and the H2!

Yep, the braking on my car is pretty bad right now. I'm going to go back and rebleed the whole brake system two times then see what I can muster out. Hopefully something a little better than 194 feet.

Instead of rebleeding, change the pads. I honestly dont know humn, did you have stock pads/rotors on lt1?

Cole...any update on your situation?

If you get new pads, make sure you bed them properly. If you just put them on and go, they're not going to work and they may even glaze.

Let me know what's up. I know you have today off and are coming into town...maybe I can get a ride in it to see how they are?

Let me know!

Eric

I don't think I'll be coming down there tonight. My buddy has to work a late shift tonight. So, there's no reason to come down there since he wouldn't be able to help me with my brakes. So no updates so far. I may just end up flying today if I can't find anyone to help me with my car. It will probably just sit for another week.
