tearing up y pipe

i recently put shorty headers on my 95 firebird. of course it comes with the y pipe and i removed the cat. my driveway is up hill and then goes into my carport. as you can guess, i am hitting the exhaust there now. it has caused it to leak and sounds like a tractor. the car has a stock suspension and 16" wheels. i am afraid to add SFC's and such. if i revamp the suspension and maybe go with a 17" wheel will this help? good thing i did not go with long tubes, huh? thanks.

SFC's wont hang lower than your Y-pipe. My UMI's are boxed and my MAC y pipe hangs lower than they do.

17s wont help your situation unless you run a taller tire, which I'm not sure you would want to do. If I were you I'd run by an exhaust shop first to see if they could raise your y pipe up for you.
