Taking Large Turns --> Low Brake Pedal

I've got a weird problem, I guess.. on a 2001 Camaro SS.
If I take a turn really quick, let's say atleast enough so you can feel it but not slide, whenever I come out of the turn and the car is straight, if I go to push the brake pedal the pedal travels further than normal.. maybe an inch or two, so it's greatly noticable to ME.. after I let up and hit the brakes again, the pedal is normal.

However, today I went around a ridiculous curve around here.. we all have "deadman's curves" in our states.. at a good speed and had to hit the brakes in the curve a good bit.. I get out of the curve and now the brake pedal travels a hell of a lot of distance.. The car still stops about the same, but the pedal travels further, and it's not "resetting" itself like it normally does.

The fluid level is perfect in the MC.. anyone have any ideas?

EDIT- Oh, and the car has traction control, which I leave on

Odd one, but being that this only happens in or after corners I'd lean toward the track control or ABS. Have you tried this with the track contol off?

1 pump and it returns to normal?

Pad knock back would be my guess ... check your front wheel bearings for excessive run-out

The pedal is perma*****ed(tm) now.

with the car off, the pedal is firm and stiff..
with the car on, i can put the pedal down to the floor without too much effort.. the car can still stop decently, but the pedal is nowhere as firm as it used to be. I could never get the pedal to the floor before...

bleed the brakes just incase,
check the quality of the fluid, u might be better off changing all the fluid

If you are not loosing fluid, i.e. a leak. Try pumping the pedal if it firms up it's probably master brake cylinder blead by.

no fluid loss at all.. and pumping the brakes up doesn't improve it

Well the track control and ABS are supposed to be fail safe. If the computor "see's" a problem it kicks off the system and trips the light, but the brakes still work.
Still sounds like master cyclinder to me.

Corners usually = wheel bearing travel, however if nothing now try bleeding the system and put new fluid in.
