Sway bar size question?

Does anyone know what the stock sway bar size is for a 96 Z28 and a 98 WS6? Both front and back.

I'm think of picking up the WS6 sway bars up off a car but I'm not sure if its worth it cause I don't know the sizes.

Thanks in advance.

p.s.- I'm assuming they are compatable, they should be I don't see why not.

30mm front and 19 mm rear are stock sizes. I don't know if the WS6 is any different. Just measure them.

Re: Sway bar size question?

Should be same as 1LE & SS 32mm / 19mm.

Some SLP cars got a 35mm front.

WS6 is indeed 32/19. Your car is 30/19. The rear is the same bar, don't buy it as you already own it. The front bar is better (not the best, but definitely better). *IF* the price is fair (like $50) then I'd get it, anything more than that and I'd look at an aftermarket front bar that's larger and comes with all new hardware and bushings. The car likes a lot of front bar.... MHO

Re: Sway bar size question?

thanks.

I wanted to do after market like spohn maybe front and back but this guy only wants 50 for both front and back sway bars off a 98 WS6 so i figured if it was an improvement I'd pick it up.

Spohns aftermarket is 32 mm front and 22 mm back.

Re: Sway bar size question?

I hate to say this, but it's true..... Using a solid 32 in place of a hollow 32 (especially when the hollow one is cheap) is just dumb. Also the 32 isn't "big" most folks are figuring out that 35 is where it's at up front. Further there are other bars out there that are 32/22 (Addco) and more cost effective and IMHO built using a better method (cold formed vs. heat treated).

In short if you *WANT* 32/22 get that front bar, then call someone else for a rear. But frankly with a 32 front, I'd STRONGLY recommend staying with the stock rear.
I sell a LOT of Addco product, and my relationship with them is so good they are the company that makes my 35/22 hollow bars. That said, I don't feel the 32 is enough bar and that's why I went through the effort to make my own.
