Suspension ??s

I have a '01 Trans Am that is completely stock (suspension wise) and I don't necessarily want to lower it, but I want it to be stiffer (better handling, corners, ect). Sub frames and strut tower brace is on it's way. what else is there besides lowering springs?
o.k. sway bars, what size is stock? I am sure those would help.
thanks in advance for any help!

Stock is 30 front/19 back
If you are on a budget the GM 32 mm bar is a step up. If you can afford to spend more, look into Sam Strano's bars at Stranoparts.com.

Shocks make the biggest improvement in handling followed by sway bars. A strut tower brace is just eye candy IMHO. Talk with Sam Strano at stranoparts.com. He races F-Bodies and knows his stuff!

Re: Suspension ??s

We need to make a sticky on this board stating that first suspension mod for people who want more out of their 4th gens should be shocks. So my recommandation to you, get some shocks. If you have the money, go with adjustable Konis so that you can adjust your shocks to whatever springs you might use in the future.

Subframes will help very little if any on a stock or mildy modified car, and strut tower bars just make for nice handles to rest on when working on the engine......

Sway bars would make a nice addition after you have your shocks/springs sorted out (stock is 30mm front/19mm rear). Then add a panhard rod if you are lowered, and lastly maybe some LCAs to round it all up. Good luck.

Re: Suspension ??s

I was in the samew situation as you for my 95.I didn t want to drop the car since i got clearance issue and your not gonna see any difference by lowering a car 1 inch. All i was asking was the better 90% street/10% race suspension package.

I ve talk to Sam Jr(phone :814-849-3450) and he take 30min to explain me every parts/price/compatibility/dampering .This man is knows is stuff After all this time of talking he still doesn t want to rush me to buy something, he tell me to take my time to think of every possibility that i got.

Finally ,i ve bought from him a set of koni on car adjustable shock(800.00$) that im gonna install with my stock spring. And also a sway bar kit(hollow)35mm/22mm (379.99$)it comes with all poly bushing/end link

Im trully sure that those are the bes parts because i ve talk to Sam first.

So my advice is just give him a call ,ask him about your need and let him direct you in the good way.
