suspension bumping noise

for a while now ive been hearing a metal on metal bumping noise whenever i hit a bump or reflector in the road. it only comes from the front left wheel. ive changed the strut, the strut mount, and the upper ball joint, after suggestions from here on the boards. anyone else ever run into this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance,

tyler

Re: suspension bumping noise

I believe the lower ball joint will wear out before the upper one does. Could be that or the rear bushing on the lower control arm...How many miles on the current setup? Might be the swaybar endlinks.

Re: suspension bumping noise

i was thinking the lower ball joint too, the only reason i havent replaced it is because its gonna have to be pressed in. the cars got 130k miles, and i got it with 83k, so im assuming its still the stock rubber bushings.

Re: suspension bumping noise

With 130K miles I suggest you rebuild the entire suspension. All of your bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends are probably worn out by now.
