Subframes, worthwhile mod?

Upgrading suspension soon with poly bushing all around, are weld in subframes worthwhile? Can you really feel the difference?

Re: Subframes, worthwhile mod?

i dont recall noticing much of a difference honestly. I haven't auto-crossed or anything, but I honestly didnt notice much of anything. Some people swear by them, others were a little less impressed

They made a night/day difference on my car. My car used to have endless squeeks and rattles, now it is as quiet as a mouse.

I did not notice a huge difference on my hardtop car, but when I put the t-tops in...there was no additional rattles or anyting. Yes, I think the hardtop cars are stiffer to begin with.

My car was unstable with the torque from the 383. I would kick out to the side. Made a HUGE difference using double diamond subframe connectors.

Re: Subframes, worthwhile mod?

I'm on record all over the place with my thoughts...... They aren't BAD THINGS, but they also should not be the first priority unless the car is a serious drag car with some power and traction, even then I'd be hard pressed to say they should be the very first mod.

The chassis is NOT a wet noodle on this car. How many of these do we see twisted like a pretzel? None. I have customers with over 200k and one with almost 400k miles on 4th gens and they not only drive great, but are still very fast autocross cars!

I'm happy to explain my thoughts. I can't do it online because someone always wants to twist what I'm saying. E-mail or forums are vague at best, and I work in particulars. A particular car or situation could warrant connectors much earlier than another car or situation. I can't know that without speaking to the person.

If you have to ask the question: "subframes, worthwhile mod?", then you don't need them. My opinion is they should be the first Mod you make.

Re: Subframes, worthwhile mod?

I thought about chopping my welded ones off to shave some weight. I didn't feel anything.
