Subframe connector strength?

I have recently installed SLP wel-in subframe connectors, and would like to know about their strength.

Are they strong enough for me to use them to jack up the car?

Are they strong enough for me to set on jackstands to support the car?

Re: Subframe connector strength?

IMO - you should never use SFC for jack points or jackstands

Re: Subframe connector strength?

I have KBDD subframes and I have used the mounting pads as jacking points with no ill affects. I almost always use the K member and the rear diff to jack the car up though. The K member has taken a beating over the years but I plan on a new BMR in the near future. I don,t think you would have a problem as long as your using the mounting pads and not somewhere along the tubes but the best thing to do is use the K member and the diff to jack the car up.

Re: Subframe connector strength?

My jack won't reach the kmember or rear diff, so I used to use the place where the mounting pads are on the SFCs for lifing the car, but now that they're there, I was concerned with damaging them.

Try giving the people a ring that you bought the connectors from, they should be able to tell you.
