Re: sub frame connectors

If it hit hard enough to bend the SFC and change the body gaps, you really need to take it to a good body shop that can repair frame damage...

Re: sub frame connectors

no i dont believe it has frame damage its just the sfc is bent and its welded to the body so its flexing the body...should i repair this on the car via some prybar? torch+prybar or gring for hours to remove it and reweld it back on?

Re: sub frame connectors

I'd remove them and replace them. you'll never know if you get them back to being straight or not.

Re: sub frame connectors

It doesn't matter what's bent... whether its the subframe, the unibody or just temporary distortion from the bent SFC's. You have a few choices:

1-Remove them and see if the body returns to "normal" clearances/gaps

2-Bend the SFC back to straight and see if the body returns to "normal"

3-Cut them off, have a body shop check the body alignment, straighten the SFC"s and put them back on.

#3 is the only sure way of knowing if the body it OK. The first two are "chancey".

Re: sub frame connectors

well hers some pics guys...guess i should remove it and try to straighten it..i went back and relooked over the body gaps they seem to be pretty straight, the top is a little bigger...but i also remembered theres no motor or tranny in the car, so i believ the gaps are fine
