went to put on new struts and i had to take off the old spring seat off the stock struts and i couldnt get it off no matter what i did is ther a special way to get them off or anyway i can get new ones thanks.

 

Care to give a clue as to what car you might be working on?

Can't be a 4th gen, because they don't have struts.

I'm going to make the assumption that you're talking about the bottom spring seat that is around the shock tube.

Nothing special to taking it off. You might try soaking it in PB blaster or a similar product.

I'm also assuming you already have the springs off and you're just dealing with the shock and the seat.
