I now have my 82-92 Strange 12bolt and want to take the caliper brackets off my 91 1LE disc rear end to use on the 12bolt. Strange tells me it won't work but I've measured EVERYTHING and it looks like it will. I don't want to remove the axles just to check to see if it works. BUT, if that's the only choice I have then I guess I will. Comments, hints, answers appreicated.

 

Don't know who you talked to, but if it's an 82-92 rear I see no reason the brackets off a 91 shouldn't work??
When I purchased mine, for the 84, I sent the brackets from Baer Brakes to them and they custom made a set that would work.

 

I have been researching this on the "thirdgen.org" site and here is a quote from there:

"The '93-97 LT1s and '89-92 1LE/3rd gen rear discs are the same and are also the same rear caliper used on C4 Vettes from '88-96 so you'll be good to go. With the GM flange you would also be able to install LS1 rear discs if you had the notion."

I have to credit Ed Miller for that info, he is the brake guru on TGO. Hope this helps, Jim
