Stock vs 1LE suspension

I just purchased the 1LE front swaybar and springs from a guy. I am going to put them on my wife's car. Has anybody went from stock to 1LE suspension. Could you tell any difference. I know they are not much better just woundered how much.

I have 1LE springs and swaybars and yes, there is a difference. There is very little body roll cornering now. I think they are considerably better than, "not much better." Retaining the stock ride height is a plus as far as I am concerned, considering some of the roads I drive on. There is now a slight tendency to oversteer and the rear can get away from you if you are not careful. Personally I'd lots rather have a little oversteer than under teer.

BTW, I have an extra set of 1LE rear springs if anybody wants to buy them.

32mm front bar

I ,ve only did the front bar, kept the stk. springs, factory shocks. My car already came from factory w/ the 21mm rear but yes i did notice better handling.I just bought a set 4 KYB AGX& might buy a strut tower brace which should satisfy my handling upgrades.

Speaking of 32mm sway bars, does anyone make a rubber mount for these? My poly ones squeaked like tortured mice regardless of what kind of grease I put on them. I finally used greased leather off an old belt which worked better than the poly did but I don't see it as a long term solution.

Aftermarket rubber are hard to find, most everything is poly. The end links aren't the squeak problem, it's the bar bushings.

Are you referring to the rubber bushings for that 32mm bar.I purchased a set of rubber ones from Fairway Chevrolet in L.V last fall.Good to have as an extra. The poly ones make the car ride stiffer, but seeing i bought some adj. KYB shocks i can soften the ride, thus i will keep the poly bushings.Hope that helps you out.

The OEM 1LE package is: 32 mm hollow sway bar front & 21 mm hollow sway bar rear. Springs more stiffier than stock but same height, and Koni's shocks. (not DeCarbon).
If you change any of these items, you will lost the goal intended for the suspension engineers.
Those items work together to provide a better handling and better suspension performance. So, definetely you'll notice a better cornering control even in road curves. Of course, if you drive at 40 miles per hour you'll not notice a thing.
If you add poliurethane bushings and a strut tower brace, you'll get more control. The price to pay is less confort. Well, the F body plataform was not designed for that.

I've upgraded my 97 TA suspension with 35 mm solid sway bar (best is hollow because less weight)front, 21 mm hollow sway bar rear (best should be 22 mm), Koni's 4/4 (waiting for them. The car has already installed SLP Bilsteins valved specially for these spings), 1LE springs, poliurethane all around and strut tower brace, LCA + relocation brackets, a boxed panhard bar aftermarket, subframe connectors and a Spohn torque arm. Well, the car handles in cornerings, curves, change of lanes almost like a go-kart. Confort...not at all but a security in plant and handle my 310 HPs engine that's for sure. The bad pavement roads condition, in my town, don't let me lower the suspension, but this procedure would add more control.
I've read Sam Strano's comments in several forums and thank to him I was able to design my car suspension.

Regards and respectfully

Get the ones with grease nipples. I use silicone grease I got from Spohn. Never squeaks.
