Steering Issue

Was backing out of a parking spot at work - making hard left turn to the lock. Hear a pop from the front end. WTF was that? Straighten wheels to drive down aisle and realize that the steering wheel is now 45 DEGREES TO THE LEFT when going straight!!!

Drove the 7 miles home - no steering issue but crooked steering wheel. Inspected - no leaks, nor does anything look wrong under the car.

WTF happened? Run the pinion off the rack?
