Squeak that won't go away
Squeak that won't go away
I have an annoying squeak that is coming from the front driver's side and I can cause this squeak by driving over a small bump especially at low speeds. I can also park the car and push down on the front fender and cause the noise. I have tried spraying some WD40 all around the shock and spring area and surrounding parts and the sound goes away for a little while then comes back. I have also noticed that if I go through a water puddle on that side the squeak goes away temporarily as well. Any ideas where it's coming from specifically and how to stop it permanently?
So do you guys recommend I get polyurethane bushings?
Are these the right ones?

Those would be it, but IMO I would recommend some plain ole' rubber bushings. Those may make noise too since they are stiffer almost like plastic. Just make sure you clean the sway bar really good and add a generous amount of grease.
I haven ran into a problem with them yet, but other people have. who knows maybe they didn't even prep them right.

Ok I went and sprayed a little WD40 on each part one by one to see if I could see what makes it go away. When I sprayed the shock and spring the sound instantly went away but it will come back within a week or two, so what's the deal?

Could be the upper insulator????
