Squeak from rear when turning
Squeak from rear when turning
I have a squeak coming from the rear when i turn. I don't believe it is from bad brakes but i think it has something to do with the play that has developed in my rear end. I think when i turn, the axle moves enough to get the brake to tap the pad or caliper. This is what someone suggested and it seems to be right.
I saw that you can fix it by grinding something down or by using some type of spacer. I didn't really get too much information, how do i fix this and/or what kind of spacer do i use and where? I don't notice it much from the sound of my exhaust and i am used to it but I think it could be somewhat annoying to others.

Re: Squeak from rear when turning
mine did the same thing. i replaced rotors, pads and calipers and the noise was still there. it could be 1 of 2 things that i know of. the clutches in the carrier could be wore out causing the axles to have more play which moves the the rotor into the caliper like you said. thats what happend to me and i bought a new carrier and gears and problem went away. thats most likley what it is. it could also be an axle bearing but i think it would be squeaking all the time, not just on turns. i had a 136 k on my car.
Re: Squeak from rear when turning
my car was doing the same thing. It began very minor only on hard left turns. It got worse and worse. It was the diff. I got a new one and the problem was solved. If you have over 75k on your car, n like to do fish tails then your is probably shot too.
