Springs - Closest to Stock hight, but not quite!
Springs - Closest to Stock hight, but not quite!
I want to lower the car a Tad, but really as little as possible as I don't want to have to worry too much about scraping the ground over bumps or anything like that...
The problem Is all the springs i've seen lower the car 1" or 2" or 2.5". are there any .5" springs or even .75" ones? Or is 1" really not that low to begin with? Ie i wont have any clearnace problems whatsoever anyhow.
I've also been looking at Blistein HD's for my struts and shocks, but it seems like when you go with a different spring different shocks would be a better fit.
Anyhow..
- what are some springs that lower the car just a "bit"?
- Any good shock that i should use with these?
- Is 1" really not that bad, and am I worrying too much?
Thanks for any replies...

Re: Springs - Closest to Stock hight, but not quite!
I'm shopping for shocks and I want to keep my stock height. I did a search and heard that you can go with a shock like what I'm considering...
for example..a Koni "sports" single adjustable which has a perch thats adjustable, I'm still searching about this and I might be getting confused with QA1's. Anyhow, set it to a lower setting using that wrench and it drops the front. The rear isolators are removed and a fuel line hose is placed over the spring "pig tails" which lowers the rear a lil bit in conjuction to the adjusted lowered front from the perch being set to the lower height. From what I read, it drops almost an inch but I'm in the dark on this since I'm still searching about this. It sounds good to me and I might try it but this is just to give you something to "search" the suspension forum about. As for me, I will probably go this route since I do not want to lower my car and seems like a cheap quick way to get a lil lower height. Anyhow...hopefully someone can buzz in a help me out as well

Re: Springs - Closest to Stock hight, but not quite!
Go for the SLP Eibachs and the SLP valved Bilstiens, lowers a bit less then and inch and give you muh improved handling, and imo a better ride.

Are these the springs everyone is referring to?
Also, how big of a difference are the strano revalved blisteins vs the regular blisteins? It's a pretty big price difference between the two
I suppose there aren't too many people who have actually had blistein's then had them revalved are there?
The koni's look great except for the price
a bit out of my budget it seems...

I'm in your situation. Ever since I replaced the rocker panel
, I'm not hot on lowering it much. But I want to drop it a little. Here's my current thinking-
The rear spring isolator mod mentioned above. And planning to trim about 1/3-1/2 coil off the front. Before everybody flames me for advocating cutting springs, I've only been doing it for 18 years, and driven probably a half million miles on em. Do it right, and in small amounts, not a problem. I don't drive competition cars on the street anyway. I haven't found any other solution other than adju$$table struts. I may still break down and buy the adjustables, cause I'm picky.
Good luck with whatever route you choose.

if you get the SLP eibach springs, get the SLP bilstiens, as they are valved for THAT spring.
If you get a different spring, or go with new stock ones then get the strano revalves.
dont bother for koni's unless you raod track it, or are very agressive in the corners.
Re: Springs - Closest to Stock hight, but not quite!
xride, I see in your sig you have a few f-bodies, so what shock/spring setup are you running in those? Shoot me feedback if you various setups..
Re: Springs - Closest to Stock hight, but not quite!
Why don't you use Control coilovers and that way you can adjust your height youself?? You also have a choice of spring rates to suit your driving style.

But the first was SLP eibachs with the SLP bilstiens
second was a 1LE with the koni's
and the new one is the same as the first.
The 1LE was better then the SLP's, but its hard to say cause I was also running much newer slightly better tires.
and the third I have to pick up in a week
