Slotted Rotors

Will someone explain to me the worth other than the unique look of slotted rotors on a daily street driven LT1 car?

With slotted rotors, are there ONLY certain brake pads that can be used?

Just curious....

not this again....

short and dirty, they are worse, they provide a smaller friction area.
you can use whatever pads you want.

its jsut for looks.
I like the blanks better, but when I do the brakes (be it replace or upgrade to LS1) I will probably use slotted for the nicer look a bit, and whatever I get they will be zinc coated.
