Shorten end links on lowered car????

I have seen mention in several threads that the sway bar end links need to be shortened when you lower the car. Is this true? If true, is there some formula for determining the amount? Thanks

you should shorten them the amount your car is lowered, almost no one does and there are no obvious issues with ignoring it, one of those little details though.
