ride too bouncey .. help me adjust my shocks
Im riding on Pro Kits and Koni double adjustables .. ride is way too harsh for my liking
which adjustment should i change and which way should i go wit it to make the ride a bit nicer ?

On the Koni DAs, you normally want the bump (the dial at the bottom of the shock) set to full soft for street use. After you do that, adjust the rebound (top adjustment) to suit you. I run 0 bump and about 4 sweeps from full soft on the rebound. Depending on your road conditions, you may be able to run more rebound and still have a good ride.

full soft on the bump would be all the way left, correct ?
and I guess i should sweep the rebound all the way left and then 4 sweeps to the right
how does bump and rebound generally affect ride ? I know one is the rate a shock compresses and one is the rate it decompresses .. but how does that translate into ride quality and performance in "dumb terms"
Im just starting to learn about shock adjustments and road handeling ... on my last car all i did was to set the hals to 2 and drop the clutch at 6000 ... new car, new purpose

thanx for all the advice u guys can give...
Yes, full soft on bump is all the way to the left, same thing on rebound. The DAs are really overkill for anything except roadcourse use in an f-body. For street or even autox use, I would leave bump at full soft. Even on the roadcourse I only go up 1 click from full soft on the bump. You can also go full soft on rebound for best ride quality, but rebound is such a pain to change that most people like to run it as stiff as they can live with on the street so they don't have to change it.
i have Prokit and Koni SA in 94Z, i can only adj rebound, and run like 7 or 8 sweeps in the front and 1 sweep in the rear (from full soft rebound) for autox. the turn in will be good and the ride will be just a little harsh.
for daily driver, 5 sweeps from full soft in the front and 0 or 1 in the back rebound and run like 30 psi all around, the ride gets better, but less crisp turn in. that's why i got strano's new 35mm hollow sway bar. gonna put it in soon
for track i run full soft rebound all around. but i also suspect the variable rate LT1 prokit is bouncy anyway. mine is. it feels more bouncy than the straight rate 4th gens i've had a chance to drive.

bump and rebound all set to full soft .. the ride is still way too harsh .. I might just sell the DA's and get some strano bilsteins. do you guys think i should swap my springs or shocks to get a better ride ?
I'm not sure what's going on, but that definitely doesn't sound right. My Firehawk (Level II suspension) rides just as good as stock with the Koni DAs up front set to full soft, and it's stock ride was better than a regular Z28/Formula/TA. Granted I'm still running the stock SLP Bilsteins in the rear, but I can't imagine that making a huge difference in ride quality. Also, I've never heard this problem from any of the other Koni users. If it's too "bouncy" I'd really think that maybe you have the shocks running too soft for the springs, but that shouldn't be the case if you've got the standard prokits. As to the variable rate of the prokits causing it to be "bouncy", that should not be the case. As you can see my Level II springs are variable rate as well and I have no bounce whatsoever on any setting (on street or at the track).
You may want to post over on frrax.com as their are a lot of us autox/roadrace guys there that run Konis.
Here's the specs on the different springs:
Z28 (93 - 97):
front: 292
rear: 114
SLP Level II (Eibach):
front: 300-450
rear: 115-185
drop: -0.75
Eibach Pro (93 - 97):
front: 377-600
rear: 94-160
drop: -1.5

Hey sideways, are you using the LT1 pro kit or the LS1? If it's the LT1 kit, these are progressive springs and could cause the ride to be a little bouncy. I've talked to Sam Strano about this, and he uses the LS1 pro kit on our cars, the LS1s are linear instead of progressive.
Just curious, but in your sig under White Bird, is that pricture with the pro kit installed?
