Exclamation The results of this thread makes it suit this forum, please help!!!

I'm searching for some jounce bumper spacers for my rear axle...please follow my thread here for reference:

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=247939

I'm trying to get this part and I'm not getting any satisfaction from the local GM dealership!

Any help will be appreciated, I've decided I'd rather not hammer away at my rear fenders.

Thanks,

lbrowne

I have no idea what it this spacer is.

I have 275 ZR1s from the factory, on both my cars, and CAN NOT make the tire hit the fender unless I want to go under and romove the panhard.
even on hte salvage when i too the springs and shocks out and the axel was sitting on hte bump stops the tires werent close to the fender lip, they were hitting in the top, but not the sides.

My tires are barely catching, the sound is just annoying. I know how yours fit so nicely based on another thread you were posting on

Pretty much only happens when i'm on the highway with a bit of load in the car, and I hit a good enough bump....

I think I may have to fabricate something myself....NAPA doesn't have anything either.

Would it be ok if I attached some sort of square bushing/block or some material (lets say metal for example) to the little square surface area on the axle where the jounce bumper hits....to increase the height there?

Sorry for all the posts but I really need to get this car done very very soon.

I've got a set in my garage. If you're interested, drop me a note at dmills@go-fast.org

Do you mean the bump stops?

I wouldnt want to have less travel in my suspension,

do roll the fender all you have to do is bang the "lip" up and out of the way gently with a rubber mallet, or cut it down so its hardly there.

Thanks for the offer, but you wouldn't ahve them to me fast enough so I'd have them before my trip.

Better go buy a rubber mallett.

I'm just afraid of doing something that can be seen on the outside of the fender

If GM offered this part I doubt it will be dangerous to the suspension by installing them.

I think I'll fabricate something myself to be the same thickness for my trip, then look at doing something more permanent when i return.

I jsut need to know if its ok to mount this fabricated bumpstop on the flat lil axle piece that the jounce bumper hits....I think it would be.

What size wheels and what offset?? You need to know EXACTLY where it's hitting before you make any changes.

theres only one spot on that axle that the jounce bumper hits. its like an inch or two square..thats it.

If your suspension hits really hard and the axle comes up, theres a spot on the axle that the jounce bumper hits. you can't mistake it. this would prevent the wheels from being able to come up high enough to rub on the inside of the fender.

I don't see why you couldn't make your own jounce bumper the way you describe. It could also be easier in the interim to mount something on the axle where the bumper would hit, of the same height. I'm imagining a couple hose clamps holding on a piece of heavy rubber...

Hey guy, posted the SLP source as the last post in the other thread for the jounce bumpers. P/N and picture.

Can't help on the hot axle deal.
