wrong forum for this but...

use whatever gasket you want, dont use RVT, doest stick to oil.
use umm cant remember what its called, but its black goo.
use a gasket, (most covers come with one) just get a GM one if you need to.

for fluid, 70W90 and GM limited slip aditive
use whatever brand oil you want really, I used royal purple, but only becuase it doesnt cost any more then the generic stuff for me.

I typically use a stock paper gasket and i also use the copper seal sealant. Never had a problem with leakage. Using the 2 together makes it easier to take off later. Just a suggestion.

My manual says to use a gasket and RTV on the cover side of the gasket. That has worked for me.

I should add that while you have it off you should put the hardered maincam studs in.
take them out one at a time.

ARP studs, the benifit, they are stronger then the stock ones, and with the 10 bolt that can only help.

they are about 30 bucks I think.. if that.

they are bearing main cap studs.
they should help esspecially if your new cover has the preload studs (I really hope it does)
