rear bumper stops

I bought my 1995 z28 with lowered springs. Car sits pretty low and when I hit a pothole or even a dip the rear bottoms out with a loud bang. I checked under there and found that the drivers side bumper stop is gone. My question is, if I replace the bumper stop (which takes up more room between the axle and the frame) won't it bottom out more often?
Also I have looked online for replacement and found really expensive ones and reasonable ones. Since I don't have a lot of money to invest right now, would the cheaper ones work?
Thanks, Mike

Re: rear bumper stops

I went from Pro-kit springs and no rear bumpstops (and horrible bottoming out banging) to strano springs and 3rd gen rear bumpstops and no more banging. From what I read is that the 3rd gens don't deteriate like the 4th gens do, ebay is your friend
