Rear brakes squeaking,New brake job

I just changed my front brakes Pro-slot and Hawk, work great.I also changed my rears autozone and hawk pads.I can hear my driver rear squeak while I'm driving at about 10mph and progressivley squeak while I pick up speed, and stop when I apply the brakes. It sounds like I'm hitting a rough spot cause it squeaks when the wheel makes an entire rotation, and when I go faster it like it's playing hide and seek you know cold to hot.squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueaksq ueaksqueaksqueak.
And when I make a right turn it makes an obnoxious noise from the rear of the car.Why is there always problems assosiated with the rear brakes only
Thanks for the help.

I have the same problem, only mine has just turned to grinding. I guess I wore the pad all the way out, good thing I have new rotors ready to go in. Let me know if you figure out what is wrong.

so your saying you had the sqeaks like me and that went away and the grinding when you would turn and it wore out your pads?Or your squeaking turned to grinding.
What kind of rotors/pads did you use.

Did you get new rotors or turn your old ones? If not that's what's causing it. Mine squeaked, then i brought them to a brake shop (or napa) to get them turned and they don't squeak anymore. Cost me 10 dollars a rotor to do.

Are you saying I have to turn my new rotors?
Another question,I think the problem is my cheap rotors and good pads.
Can I get some pretty good rotors and use my pads that I only put 50 miles on?

Did you lube the rotor to pad contact points???

My rear stockers have started this, but its because the pad shims got messed up. I lubed the contact points and it helped.

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the pad to rotor contact.

Are those shims the thing that goes on the top part of the caliper that sorta seperates the pads.It looks like an H.

No, shims go on the backside where the piston contacts the pad. You should lube the contact points on the clips that you mentioned also. Lube anywhere the caliper touches the metal of the pad.

Re: Rear brakes squeaking,New brake job

I had the same thing last year, rear brakes squeaking whenever I wasn't on the brakes. After changing the rear pads and rotors, it was still there. For me it turned out I had a bent axle causing the rotor to spin unevenly and rub. First do what the others have suggested, but if that doesn't work, keep the axle in mind. If you remember hitting a big pothole lately, you may have a bent axle.

I had a similar problem, and I have ceramic pads which are supposedly squeak-free

I had my caliper sliding pins, and all the metal sliding surfaces in the calipers lubed with high temp synthetic grease and the problem has ceased.

Hope this helps
