Where have you found the cheapest place to get the KYB shocks? Also, I was reading that on other cars, when people lowered them, the front tires tilted way out, lots of camber. DO i need to worry about this? If that happens, what do I need to do to fix it?

PST has them for 350 a set, the cheapest I've seen. Camber amount is adjusted when you get your car front end alighned after lowering.

Not sure where the cheapest KYBs are, but Bilstiens are only 350 for the set, and I like them over KYB. (but bone daddy is the other way Originally posted by My 97 Z28

)They should tilt in not out when lowered, but I think with the the suspension is I dont htink a camber kit is needed, but dont quote me on that.

#1 - I am right, and Xride is payed under the table by Bilstein.
#2 - The most expensive I've seen is 400$.
#3 - No, you don't need a camber kit, with the sportlines all you need is to have it re-alighned.
I like bilsteins, they are a quality shock, just not with sportlines. How do you sleep at night Xride? You and your filthy bilstein bribe money!

The shocks are still the same age regardless of the mileage on your car. I would just wait on the spring install until you can purchase new shocks.Originally posted by My 97 Z28

Xride: Actually it's just to the side of the table, the KYB rep has a bad back.
Black_Z28: Actually, not really. The more mileage/age or wear on the car, the more worn out the shock. What I meant was with only 26,000 miles the shock probably had some descent stiffness to it, even if he's ragged it a bit. The sporlines have a failry high spring rate, and normally kill shocks showing their age, but his shocks appear to be descent. (so it sounds anyway) So I suggested he could possibly wait a bit before getting new shocks, but not for a "long" period.

I agree, stockers should last the summer anyways, might not be the best, but they shouldnt be that bad.Originally posted by Bone Daddy

I'll do it this time, but 2 more strikes and I'm kicking you off the intArweb.
Click:
online catalog > .GM, Ford and Mercury, Chrysler, Dodge, and plymouth section > KYB AGX gas shocks > KYB Adjustable AGX Gas Shocks for Sports and Imports > 93-01 Camaro
They have went up to 389$ though, dunno why. Must be getting more popular, I should get a commission Xride!
You can get the Bilsteins for 350$ but like I said before the ride is total crap, (with sportlines, to me and others) and no adjustment.

Don't worry about too much negative camber (top of tire tilted in) when you lower it. The most you'll get will be about -1.5. Pretty good for handling without wearing the tires too bad. Of course, you could have it re-aligned to take some camber back out.Originally posted by My 97 Z28
