Question on master cylinder/brake booster install..........69' Z/28

I spent mega bucks through Year One to get a Delco stamped booster, and a new master cylinder. I am putting it together, and saw when I was installing the master that I have an issue. Where the pushrod is inserted into the booster, there is a collar that protrudes approximately 1". This collar isnt on the old style booster. I put the short pushrod in and attempted to bolt the master up, but no go. Am I being a bonehead? Is this collar some sort of shipping piece that is removable or what? What am I missing here?

TIA

I called Year One before ordering, to confirm the correct part numbers. Just got off the phone with their tech support.....only to find out they sent me the wrong booster.

Over $400 spent, and a car still on jackstands = NOT HAPPY
