prothane motor mounts and trans mount kit
prothane motor mounts and trans mount kit (new ?)
I'm looking to buy this kit for my 95 camaro- as my sig states, I'm putting an lt1 in it and am using factory style motor mounts. How hard is it to install these motor mount inserts (I think I've heard you have to drill out rivets or something and then use nut and bolts to put the insert in) mounts are off the car so I shouldn't have a problem, just looking for some pointers. Also, I checked summit and jegs- they sell a kit for around $65, any other places I should check for better pricing?
thanks for any input!
edit: also looking to replace sway bar bushings and end-links. what size is the stock front sway bar?

I just put in energy suspension motor mounts in my car and they are that bad to do. You do have to drill out the rivets - 3/8" & 1/2" are required per the directions. I don't have a 1/2" drill so I just used the 3/8" and moved the drill around on an angle in the hole to open it up.
A 4-1/2" grinder makes quick work of the rivet heads too........then a chisel and hammer to separate them

Alright, I finally got the mounts- three weeks after I ordered them from summit. I guess they were backordered. The kit included the bolts (5 total) for one clam shell but not for the other clam shell that bolts to the crossmember. After taking a closer look, it appears that nuts and bolts won't work because it's almost flush with the crossmember (no room for a bulky bolt head). I'm assuming this one has to be riveted back together? Is this correct? If so, does anyone know what size rivet? It mentions nothing of this in the instructions- it only refers to drilling out rivets and using the supplied bolts.
