primer and paint or powdercoat

Im about to install all of my suspension parts but some are just bare metal and need to be painted or powdercoated.

My question is which do you suggest?

The car will not be a daily driver and only driven on occasion. I know powdercoat is obviously more durable but I heard it can be somewhat expensive. Can I get away with just primer and spray painting it?

thanks

Andrew

The first time you hit a rock, curb, etc with a painted part it will most likely chip...then the rest of the paint will flake off over time. Then you'll have to uninstall it and repaint or powdercoat it anyway.

I just picked up a PHR (non-adjustable) for cheap and shot it with some paint and clear...only because it wont be long until I lower the car and will need an adjustable one. At that point I'll get a nice powdercoated one.

Paint and primer will be fine if that is what your budget is confined to. Granted powdercoating is alot more durable and looks better in my opinion.

You can get away with it, but the quesitons is for how long. I saw in the Summit catalog the other day they are now selling a powdercoating gun for notthat much, maybe a couple hundred. I think I'm going to look into getting one, only thing to worry about would be finding an oven to cook the stuff in.
