please help....brakes

ok so i went to change my brakes and rotors today and i couldn't fit the new pads in. The e-brake lever stoped the brake cylinder from going in with a c- clamp.

Are you working on the front or rear???? And are you talking about the caliper piston???

Have you disconnected the e-brake cable from caliper?

Did you loosen the bleeder screw to allow fluid to drain as you pushed the piston in??? Number 31 I think... Pic courtesy of Shoebox..
