Parking Brake button

Ok, just replaced my shifter on a 01 Z-28. Part of the removal was taking the handle and spring loaded rod/release button off the metal arm for the parking brake. Now I can't figure out how to reinstall the rod/button and handle. Anyone help a dummy get his car back together ?

Re: Parking Brake button

Got it. Just needed to step away until today. The exploded views I have access to didn't show much about the parking brake assembly. At the front of the assembly is a movable stop that holds the cog or ratchet at a certain place when you apply the brake. That has to be manually pushed in at the point were the brake arm is set. Apply the brake, push in that stop and then insert the handle and rod assembly. The hook on the rod faces toward the floor pan.
