Ordered QA1 front shock and spring..rear?

I just ordered a set of qa1 12 way adjustable front shock's and front springs. I am currently running competition eng. rear shocks. I am running a custom set of springs that I had made, that were heated and shrunk 1" Should I keep these springs, or should I place a stock set of springs in the rear. The car will be a street/strip vehicle. Thanks

For performance get rid of them, you NEVER heat springs they loose their structural intergrity.

Well, I am running that same setup in my 1994 Trans Am. Hal 12 ways up front with their drag springs up front, and Comp. Eng. 3 way adjustable drag rear shocks with stock LT1 coil springs with the rubber isolater removed. It lowers the rear about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. It aint the absolute most smoothest ride, but it is not horrible by any means. It feels exactly like what it is, a drag setup.

As far as I know QA1 recommends the stock spring to work best with there 12-way adjust. rear shocks.

texasTA, did you re-use the stock top spring seat and "dog biscuit"?
If not what did you need?
I am using the 300lb Hal spring. Do you have any tips for install?

I read through that page and printed it off as a guideline. This is for Stock/Eibach springs. I am installing the Hal "springs". What I was asking is if the "Hal" springs work with the top spring seat etc.

Anyone using Hal springs!! Please.

You can get rid of the spring insulator and use a piece of 5/8 heater hose cut down the middle, spread apart and wrapped around the top coil. It will take care of SOME of the harshness.

Thanks. I will try that. If its too harsh, I will try and get a flat isolator w/o a notch.
