new front lca bushing just basically falls right in ??

I am attempting to rebuild the stock front suspension on my wife's 98 Z. Pressed out all bushings and ball joints from the stock lca's. Finished pressing back in new stuff on driver's side, now working on passenger side. I went to put in the new moog rear bushing on the control arm and it slides in with a rubber hammer, so I know this is wrong. I am at a loss about what to do. Is this control arm trash?

Good morning.

How easily with a rubber hammer? Is it an exact fit or is there some slop?

Exact fit is ok but slop is bad.

It does fit no slop but can be hammered with said rubber hammer right back out easily. I was thinking tack welds?

Tack welding a bushing housing to keep it from rotating is a common practice. As long as it fits with no slop you should be good.

We see this with a-arms which have had multiple bushing installs. The first time it's a press fit, second time semi-press, third time loose/exact.

The bushing is captured regardless since it's in double shear so it's probably safe, just if it's loose it'll rattle and drive you crazy...

Let us know how you make out. And good luck.
