Need Fast Replies so......

It's more suspension related, but i need fast replies-cause i'm doing this in two days.

Alrighty here goes. Basically this is just telling what i am planning on doing, so if it's wrong stop me now....lol.

I bought a set of Seal-it seals for my Rod-ended LCA's, because I don't want sand and grit to get in there. If you are unfamiliar with the seals, basically they are a washer with a rubber grommet around them that squishes out to cover the rod end when installed. The problem i ran into is this washer is quite thick, and with one on each side it throws off the clearance between the LCA brackets, and the body mount. So what my idea is to mill them the thickness of the washer, on each spacer to adjust for this. Is anyone sure of the type of material they use for these spacers? Is it Chromoly like the rest of the LCA? I kindof need to know when milling them so i don't use an aluminum cutter . If no one knows i will call Steve. I belive this milling is the only way to compensate for these. I know not many of you use these seals, but if so let me know what you had to do.

So what do you think? good idea?

Also what type of grease do they use in those? This is what it says on Spohns site "chrome moly rod ends with TeflonŽ/KevlarŽ self lubricating race" So i wonder if i can get some of that stuff, They are a little dirty, and i'd like to wipe them off first, but don't want to wipe all the lubricate off, if i don't have any to replace it with.

Is there a circle track/dirt track car forum on which you could ask this question? I think those guys may be more familiar with this particular item.

In any event, let us know what you do manage to find out.

Re: Need Fast Replies so......

Well i decided to just go ahead and mill them. I took off .057". That should be exactly enough to clear the brakets. I will let you guys know how it goes.

There is no forum for this type of stuff.........i wanted it in LT1 forum cause lots of people are actually in there all the time, but they moved it. So i got no replies so i just did it.

Thanks for the reply though Norm That is a good idea to have other forums, some stuff is just left out and then it gets moved to a forum no one visits and you get no replies......O well.
