LT1 car rocking from side to side!
i noticed that now, its getting much worse. on the highway, i can only get till 55 in 5th gear, because anything faster will get the car rocking from side to side. i got it up to 80 or 85 and upon deceleration, the car starting rocking again from side to side. i had to pop it into 4th (yes, at 85) and let the rpms slow down the car, and straighten it out.
has anyone ever seen this before?

You might also check to see that power steering pump is firmly attached to the engine while you are checking tohe steering rack for tightness.

Check steering linkage for tight connections, front wheel bearings for slop, frontend alignment, especialy toein, and tire tread wear. For a quick check, grap the top of the front tires and pull/push them in and out. The shouldn't move hardly at all. Also grab front or rear of front tires and pull/push. I suspect loose steering or suspension parts. For gosh sakes do it before you drive again.

But there can be a long list of parts that you may need....
Inner and outer tie rod ends
Upper and lower ball joints
Rack could be loose
Wheel bearings
Upper and lower control arm bushings
K member bolts loose???
Loose lug nuts???
Just check the simple things first and go from there
How many miles are on the car? It may be a good idea to start replacing parts anyway even if they aren't the problem.
