You will need a complete set of spindles with rotors, calipers, and mount brackets. Cheapest source is Ebay. Usually under $200 shipped.

The LT1 brakes are better than most give them credit. Main benifit you will get from the LS1 brakes is better fade resistance. If you want the best out of your LT1 brakes, install Ceramic pads, they worked wonders for my son's Camaro.

I did the LS1 conversion this Spring, with a set of Hawk HPS Pads, and I was amazed at the added stopping power. Bigger Rotor and a 2 piston caliper was well worth the $250 I spent. I have pics in my Sig.

if u have alittle bit of money and the time do the LS1.. Yeah it was like night and day difference.. My buddy did performance ceramics on his LT1 brakes and it helped a lot too.. but performance ceramics on 2 piston vs 1 piston = more stopping power.

Definately worth your time. Made a very noticable difference. Not very hard to do, just a little time consuming if you've never done it before.

Re: LS1 brake upgrade on LT1?

I just bought this kit but it doesn't come with the LS1 brake lines. Will the stock LT1 lines work fine? I hear people bending the mount and it works fine. What would you guys recommend?

Re: LS1 brake upgrade on LT1?

are the wheel bearings the same between the LT1 and the LS1? same question, just phrased differently:
-do the wheel bearings from the LT1 spindle fit in the LS1 spindle?

thanks!

I have a complete LS1 conversion kit that I'll be putting on ebay tonight!

There are lots of pictures and it comes with EVERYTHING, meaning spindles/knuckles, hubs/bearings, rotors, calipers, pads, lines, line brackets, sensors, and I even have the VIN number from the car they came off of. I got them off ebay a long time ago and they are tagged with the mileage and VIN number. Can't remember the mileage but it'll be in the ebay ad. The rotors look like they've never been turned and the pads look like low mileage. All stock parts.

I'm putting a "Buy it Now" price cheaper than anyone else so they'll sell fast because I need some cash fast to buy something else I can get a great deal on if I can get the money rounded up in time.

Price will probably be $130 Buy it Now and in the range of $30 to $40 shipping depending on where you live. 2 boxes, each one 18x18x12" and weigh 55 pounds each.

If you want them I'll send you a link to the auction just as soon as I post it, so you can buy it before it even gets put in the ebay que.

I had a guy buy the calipers and rotors for a different project he's working on last night, but I still have the spindles and hubs complete. You could still use them and buy the calipers and rotors at AutoZone or your favorite local junkyard... $50 for both spindles plus the ride to your place... I'll be posting them today on ebay as well. I'll post a link here...

Re: LS1 brake upgrade on LT1?

If you have 17"wheels then I would go with C5 brakes.
