LS1 Brake Conversion Questions???

I am bidding on a LS1 front brake setup on Ebay right now. I am just wondering what I will need to do to install it. I mean, are there bushings on the spindle I will have to replace?

Also, I would like to powdercoat the spindle first, and at least paint the calipers.

What parts of the setup[ can be powdercoated/painted? I know you can't just throw the calipers in the oven since they have rubber seals and what not, but I don't know about the spindles. Can I take the wheel bearing out and have them done, or are wheel bearings a one time deal?

Any other tips?

Thanks

Re: LS1 Brake Conversion Questions???

You will need knuckles, calipers, rotors and pads at a minimum. Your LT1 hubs can be reused.

You can separate the spindle and hub and paint the spindle. You can also paint your caliper.

This is what I did a while ago on a set of LS1 brakes I had and never installed because I sold the car.

You will notice I didn't paint the calipers completely. Too lazy.

I now have another one and I didn't bother to go through it. Just installed them the way they were.
