LS1 Brake Conversion

Searched, but didnt find too much. My question is, can you use stock LT1 spindles for the conversion? And can you use Z06 calipers with stock LS1 rotors?

Unfortunately, you can't use the LT1 spindle to convert to the LS1 brakes, you'll need the LS1 spindles as well. If you look at the LT1 spindle, it has these "fingers" that stick out and overlap the 10.8" front LT1 rotor. You can't install bigger rotors without interfering with these "fingers". These fingers are what the front brake pads mount onto. If you want the stock 12.0" LS1 brakes, you'll need the LS1 spindles that don't have these fingers.

As for Z06 calipers, not sure, but I've heard about some brackets that can be used to make them fit....maybe someone can chime in.

I know the corvette caliper fits inside the ls1 basket but it may very well rub on the inside of the rim...the strengthing ribs will interfere I think..unless your running 17`s or bigger

Oh yea nice ride 96

I thought I heard that you could grind off the tabs on the LT1 spindle, but maybe im just imaging that. And say you could do that, would everything else be ok? Like, whatever sensors there are up in that area, on the hub and stuff?

I think you grind the tabs off for a conversion but then you need some sorta bracket to convert the biggger brakes...Would be easier to just change the spindles IMO
