Lowering the TA?

Who here has lowered their TA and put on LT's?

I REALLY want the car lowered because of the way it looks and I REALLY want my car to handle better. I plan on lowering it without clearance issues and using SFC's and all the goodies for an awesome handling/hooking TA.

I would appreciate suggestions... I did a search but I found mostly people trying to sell their stuff. L0L

Re: Lowering the TA?

You can have LTs and a lowered car. Just drop it an inch, no need for more IMO. You will sacrifice ride quality for a lowered car.

Ride quality how... comfort?

I heard that a lowered car has worse 1/4 time performance... is there a way to compensate for that?

Re: Lowering the TA?

I've got a custom 3"in Drop on my 94 TA, after stroking the motor I Put on a set of LT's, the only issue I've had is that I can't put on double diamond SFC's, and that my pipe do scratch a little on bump's,

The ride is much more rough! and yes it does affect the 1\4 time. cause lowered suspensions dont weight transfer at all. I've got 4.11's and enough power to put down some good 60ft times.... but because of my suspension I'm still in the mid 2's on DR's I'm going to try slicks this season, if i dont pull atleast a 1.9 then the suspension is coming off and I'm going to redo everything!

Re: Lowering the TA?

So thats it... lowered cars DO suck at 1/4 times... no in between? I love the look on a lowered car... but whatever.

How about handling? Then which shocks and springs do you suggest for great hooking and taking turns?

I am going to go with Boxed BMR SFC's (Welded) and whatever...

I just want to hook and take turns without a worry. If I can't lower the car... oh well

Well you can still lower the car. again I have a 3in drop! if you drop it an inch, get a set of SFC's so sticky *** tires, and some other suspension upgrades you'll be fine.

Re: Lowering the TA?

My car is lowered.... I pulled 1.7xx 60's like that before the build up. Just a CAI, cut out 2800 stall converter and 3.73's.

Re: Lowering the TA?

So you think if I lowered the car an inch... my launch really wouldn't suffer?

I want to add Pacesetter LT's and SFC on the bottom of the car, but the dude with the Macs said he doesn't bottom out, but thats with mid lengths... what do you people think?

I love the sleek lowered look on a F Body, but I would really hate to sacrifice performance and scrapage. But the clearance issues don't seem to be a problem with an inch drop.

Now that I think about it, how much fun would it be getting in a driveway or on a lift... hrm
