Currently own '94 9C1 Caprice with full mech. rebuild. Looking at '97 Z28 LT1/auto. Says 1st owner, 146K km., K&N, BBK throttle body, pulleys, SS hood. Researching additional mods before buying car. Using old GM High Tech mags as reference, specifically "Thunder Chicken" series.

So 1st ques. what happened to KB's parts? 2nd ques. rough quesstimate on price to convert to manual gearbox (no manual parts in hand). 3rd ques. is there real advantage of 6spd over 5spd?

The 6 cylinder has the 5 speed, the lt1's have the 6 speed...T56. There are a ton of new suppliers out there besides kenny brown. Good luck with buying one!

 

Kenny Brown suspended operations for 3 years, due to health problems. Apparently they are back in business recently.

As noted, there are any number of outfits making good SFC's, etc.

 

Appreciate replies. Ouestion remains, is there advantage to 6 gears over 5?
TKO 500/600 or T56; is one better for street than other? Again thanks.
