k memeber

I have a 1996 ws6. I am out of caster. Could the k memeber be off. The wheel are as far forward as they can go and I still 7 degrees more positive caster?

Yes, it could be the K member. I was just recently involved in a wreck and I am having the same problem. All of the frame measurements and everything else are dead on but it still won't line up, so this weekend I am putting in another K member and giving it another shot.

+7° of caster is a lot of caster!! How much are you aiming to get?? Are you setting up for the street, or racing? I know that a lot of the guys who setup for racing will run typically anywhere from -1.0 to -2.0° of camber, and +4.5 to +6.0° of caster. Although for a stable "feel", the more caster, the better, right?

You're right though, the K-members can be off by a fair bit from the factory. For example, my car got -1.5° of camber on the passenger's side, and a whopping -0.5° of camber on the driver's side! It wasn't to do with the length of the slots in the frame, but where the slotted plates were physically welded onto the K-member (off by at least ~1/4" on the driver's side, hence the lack of camber). The car's certainly aren't perfect from the factory!
