K-member...worth it?(the umi one)

Given that we have seen repeated fractures of the BMR piece and as far as I know they haven't addressed the issue. I would go for the UMI piece based on that alone. Also take into consideration that this piece was designed with road racing and open road racing in mind, with input from engineers that run these cars in said activities. It really seems like a no brainer. Those guys are harder on parts than almost anyone. UMI even went so far as to add extra bracing specifically for those guys based on their input. You can order the extra bracing for a small sum extra.

Howevery told you any of them were are strong as UMI's is smoking some really good weed. Unless of course they magically figured out how to make one cross-tube as strong as two that are welded together and then have gussets added too.
I had some input on the UMI part, and one of my bitches was the flimsy nature of the others and told Ryan I wouldn't sell them unless they were a lot stronger than the rest. I'm glad to report he took that to heart.
And to those that think they look the same... look closer. They aren't. And in a generic sense a drag radial and worn out street tire "look similar", but we all know they aren't. Beyond that both are red and are tubular you'll find the UMI part is a lot beefier, which is why we sell those. They cost slighly more @ $479, and you "only" lost 25 pounds, but considering your suspension is bolted to it and K-members have been known to break, I think that's smart money.

I guess I'm biased. But I think if you look at the differences close up and consider just why they are different and also consider the stock one's design I think it's a no-brainer UMI makes the best one.

Yes true, BUT Strano Parts is a sponsor of this site, so #1 you want to buy from a supporting business of this site, correct? With out them this site would not be. #2 Sam gives great advice and expresses his opinion as you have just seen, he will tell you what you need and what you don't and won't sell you stuff you the stuff you don't need. He bases his sales off of his advice and hardwork, not because he can undercut the price for a price shopper.
