Anyone know what the front "bars" are for on a conv K-member?

Extra rigidity to try and make up for the loss of the stiffness of the roof. The convertible also has an x-brace at the rear of the transmission and a cross brace behind the rear seats to add stiffness (there may be more structural changes beyond that, those are all I know of.)
