Question Just got new adj. panhard rod, help with install....

Hey guys, I dont even see my stock panhard rod under the car. Where do I look? I heard its only two bolts. Can I just take off the old one and bolt up the new one or is there anything I should do before I start taking off bolts? Is one end on the frame and one end touching the rearend? Why is it adjustable? What are you adjusting for? Thanks--- sorry for being such a newb---

Sorry...this may sound stupid. But why did you buy an adjustable panhard bar if you dont even know why it is adjustable?

Did the rod come with instructions, if so, follow them. Also, you should look into getting a Chiltons manual or equivalent and that will familarize you with the various parts of the car and their locations. The adjustable panhard rod is useful if you are running oversize tires, like 315s. Adjusting the rod is kind of a pain, and it is outlined in some previous threads, so do a search to find it if your instructions dont outline the procedure. BTW, the panhard rod sits slightly in front of the rear axle at a slight diaganol.

In this picture, its the black, tubular bar, running almost horizontally from a bracket on the driver's side of the rear axle assembly to a large sheet metal "arm" on the passenger side of the body.

If you don't know why you are adjusting it, simply adjust it to match the length of your stock arm.
