intermittent "brake" light and spongy brakes
I have a 94 Z28 that has had the "brake" light on since last summer. I didn't feel my braking ability change any so I ignored it while the car sat for the winter, but now the brakes feel spongy. I can push the pedal to the floor until it hits the back. I replaced the front brakes and got the rotors turned since they were warped, and the back brakes are fine. Since replacing the brakes the light comes on at random times. When I start the car it will be on until I push the pedal a couple times, if I push the pedal down fast and hard it will go away everytime, sometimes it just needs to be pumped a couple times. I know the "brake" light means there is a difference in pressure between the front and rear brakes, but I am wondering what I should do about it at this stage. The pedal can go to the floor, the reservior is full (even overflowed when I replaced the front brakes), and the light comes on at random times. Is bleeding the brakes necessary?
I should probably mention I don't have traction control, do have ABS, and the ABS INOP light is not on.

Are you sure you don't just have a problem with the switch on the E-brake?
If the E-brake switch isn't causing the light to come on intermittently, it sounds like you have air in the lines. Bleeding is required.
