Idea here:anybody have any pics of both LCA mounting points to the body?
Got another crazy idea sitting in the desert doing a bunch of nothing. I am stuck having to fabricate my own subframe connectors since my duals wont allow me to use the ones I want and I got this idea to use my fab skills to try something new. I was thinking of making a longer LCA and relocating the mount further up the chassis to give the car more leverage under acceleration/weight transfer. Just a thought, couldnt hurt if done right.
I've also been thinking of moving my new engine back half an inch or so to help things out a little bit. and if I'm lucky I might have a solution for longtubes and dual exhaust clearance. Just putting my thinking hat on here and trying to see things outside the box.
Anybody?
some pics of the bottom of the car like it would be on a lift would be GREAT. Pics of the bottom of the oil pan and stock k-member would rock too. Later this year I'm dropping in my injected 434, and from measurements I took from the pan, I have 2 inches clearance from the pan to the back edge of the k-member. I'm considering hacking up my well-used set of Hooker LT headers (I was gonna go with jet-hot's anyway) and putting the collector next to the oil pan by turning it 90 degrees, with some minor modification to the pan (it's custom anyway) and major modification to the headers to get both sides to dump on the same side of the car while keeping the advantage of LT headers. That way it would fit between the pan and the k-member. Hard to imagine though. This way would make it a ton easier to run duals even tighter under the car and would give me the ability to use longtubes with a turbo if I wanted to. Just thinkin =)

if you're going that far, go ahead and tube chassis the whole car.
re-enginerring the suspension is bad. it could work, but how about when you hit a bump in the up-motion? the bar will hit the chassis. think about that? how far you moving it?
you might be able to implement some kind of subframe that ties into the RLCA mounts, that would be much better off than relocating.

Exactly. Since I have to custom fab some subframes, why not make some that can reinforce a LCA relocation? I figured that I could move the LCA up to two inches further forward, and no, it wont hit the car. That would make no sense.
Do that and fab the subframes where they would tie in and reinforce the mounting location. That was the general idea. Longer arm further toward the car for more weight transfer and traction...
This is just a thought right now. But hell that's how I came up with the idea for the injected 434
