I get the center brake light (in the hatch) to work but that's it for brake lights

Ok, when I push on the brakes, I get the center break light (the one in the hatch) to work. But the lower brake lights don't light up (you know the ones above the bumper). I have been told it might be a switch...I don't understand that, so can anyone clarify that (if it's even accurate)

and any helpfull info would be great.

O and yes all the bulbs are new/tested working.

Check your fuses.

Yes, it could be the switch (on the brake pedal bracket). There are two sets of contacts in it. One for the 3rd brake light and one for the normal brake lights.

Could also be a bad turn signal switch. Ive seen this many times.

This was the problem with mine a couple years ago. I took the switch off, cleaned it and the problem was solved.
